PSI Seminar – Rachel Aldred, Senior Lecturer in Transport at FABE, University of Westminster
1pm-2pm, Wednesday 8th October 2014
Location TBC

The next PSI seminar will be with Rachel Aldred, Senior Lecturer in Transport at the University of Westminster. Rachel joined Westminster in September 2012 from the University of East London, where she lectured in Sociology. She leads the MSc Transport Planning and Management and is particularly interested in connections between social and environmental justice, and how both relate to transport identities, systems and behaviour. She’s currently involved in research projects that range from agent-based modelling to an exploration of where people are willing to cycle with children.

Rachel will be speaking about her research on cycling, within the broader context of changing research and policy challenges. This will involve reflections on current and previous work, which has included in-depth qualitative research, a case study of an advocacy group, and more recently online survey research and re-analysis of secondary data.

As this is the first in the series of PSI’s seminars this academic year we look forward to welcoming our new colleagues in FABE!

A sandwich lunch will be provided, and the talk will be followed by an opportunity for informal discussion. All are welcome; please RSVP to Tom Watson (t.watson@psi.org.uk) to indicate your attendance.
